The school is situated in Sydney’s Eastern Suburb Randwick and has had such a great influence on the children at the school.

Headmaster Anne Hastings wrote this little note to Gillie and Marc:

Dear Gillie and Marc,

We are very pleased to see our new sculptures and it’s wonderful to see our young ones giving them a hug and even talking to them! Many, many thanks for your time, creativity and passion in making this a reality for us.

Gratefully,
Anne Hastings

RUSSELL DRYSDALE RECREATED BY GILLIE AND MARC

On the weekend, Gillie and Marc headed to the Riverina town of West Wyalong to uncover one of their latest projects…

WestWylong_roadInfluential Australian artist Russell Drysdale became an iconic figure after painting a series of landscapes of drought-ravaged 1940s New South Wales. Drysdales painting “West Wyalong” is  recreated in bronze by Gillie and Marc for the town as a 3D version.

“This interactive sculpture is placed on the street at the exact angle Drysdale painted from,” says Gillie. “We’ve recreated the streetscape, only it is more than double the original size. It’s a real landmark for West Wyalong.”

Run for your life

Earlier in the year Gillie and Marc were commissioned to create a beautiful public sculpture for Australia Zoo in Queensland.

Australia Zoo is the home of the famous crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin and with this is mind Gillie and Marc designed a sculpture that would honor the memory of him and his love of crocodiles.

Steve and Terri Irwin’s vision has always been to make Australia Zoo the biggest and best wildlife conservation facility in the entire world, and there is no other zoo like Australia Zoo. Gillie and Marc wanted to contribute to this vision.

They designed an amazing crocodile sculpture titled, ‘Run for your Life.’ This piece is sculpted in two parts so the crocodile actually looks as if it is swimming in the plants.

Just today it was installed: Here are the pics!Image

Our new Friend – The Deer man

Image

Our latest edition to the Rabbit and Dogman is the Deerman.

The deer has been previously used as an animal for which they ride on (below). However we decided to take this one step further and make him into a deer man.

Image

The word “deer” was originally broad in meaning, but became more specific over time. It meant a wild animal of any kind. This is why we have chosen the deer as out animal, it expressed freedom and that we all have a wild side.

ImageImage

Deers have always been there in the back of our minds, even appearing in some of our very early work! We would love to hear your thoughts on our latest edition!Imageder
